Open Spousal Work Permit

Open Spousal Work Permit (OSWP):

In all provinces excluding Quebec, spouses of students enrolled in public colleges or universities are granted the OSWP. The spouses of foreign nationals with work permits in Canada who are engaged full-time in a skilled occupation are also eligible for this work permit (NOC 0, A or B). You can also ask for an OSWP if you're applying for permanent residency in Canada through a common-law, conjugal, or spousal sponsorship. There are no restrictions on the type of job, the employer, or the location for these open work permits.
