Provincial Nominee Programs
PNP streams, an expanding Canadian economic immigration route, have almost 250,000 people gaining permanent residence between 2021 and 2023. The federal government raised provinces’ annual expenditures for their respective PNPs.
Identify the possibilities for the application
Depending on whatever stream of the Provincial Nominee Program you are applying to, how you will apply will vary. Either the non-Express Entry process or Express Entry may be required for your application.
- Non-Express Entry process
- In order to be nominated in a non-Express Entry stream, you must apply to the province or territory.
- You must fulfil the province's qualifying standards in order to be nominated.
- If selected, you submit an online application for permanent residency.
- Processing times for applications differ from those of Fast Entry.
- Express Entry process
- You get in touch with the territory or province and request a nomination through an Express Entry stream.
- By indicating the provinces and territories you are interested in, you may establish an Express Entry profile.
- You should get in touch with a province or territory directly if they send you a "notice of interest" for your account.
- Once you are nominated, the province or territory will send you an electronic nomination certificate that you must accept.
